The Italian population is declining and also getting older. The current fertility rate in Italy is 1.33 children per women. This is one of the lowest in the western world. One in Five people are over the age of 65 in Italy. With this current rate there will be on average 14 million less Italians by the year 2050. This is a problem, because many women are avoiding the mother career and pursuing business careers.
